Dear OMPH Families,
A year and a half ago I decided it was time to retire after 45 years in Catholic education. During that time I served in only two schools – Resurrection Catholic School in Lancaster and Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic School. At first, I enjoyed the freedom of making my own schedule and getting up without an alarm, but that all changed when September arrived. I missed preparing for school but most importantly I missed the kids. That’s why when I saw the need for a long term substitute for 5th grade at OMPH last January, I jumped at the opportunity. Teaching was and will always be my first love.
Honestly, when I was asked by the Diocesan Education office to think about returning to OMPH as interim principal, I was hesitant, not because of the position, but because of COVID-19. Then I began to look at all the hard work the staff and teachers were doing to make sure your school is as safe as possible for providing a face to face education. After some additional prayers, I accepted the challenge. On January 4, I was very happy to see all the beautiful eyes of the kids and staff (someday soon I will see all their beautiful faces).
I am here to serve the children, staff, and you. My office door is always open for you to come in and share problems or concerns.
I can be reached by using my e-mail or by calling the school office 717-738-2414.
May our loving Savior and Our Mother of Perpetual Help bless, guide, and protect you this New Year.
Miss Brenda Weaver
