Principal's Message

Dear OMPH School Parents,

My name is Mrs. Peggy Snyder and I am honored to be your Principal at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic School. I come to you with 15 years of experience as a Principal in the Diocese of Harrisburg. I earned my B.S. degree in Elementary Education at York College of Pennsylvania; a Master’s of Education in Teaching and Curriculum at Pennsylvania State University; and a Master’s of Science in School Leadership at Marywood University. I recently earned an Autism Endorsement through Neumann University in Pennsylvania.

My entire career has been in Catholic education! My teaching experience began in York at St. Joseph Catholic School in Dallastown.

I taught there for many years before I became the Principal. When our school closed and merged with St. Patrick Catholic School in York to became Holy Trinity Catholic School, my journey as a Principal led me to OMPH School — what a blessing!

Catholic Education has been my passion for many years. I love what we offer academically and spiritually to our students and their families. The children are my focus. I want them to feel safe, loved and respected for who they are because they are gifts from God to us! I have worked with a generation of children who have changed my life in so many ways. I already feel at home at OMPH School! I am excited to begin working with the students, the parents and our teachers.

I live in York with my husband, Blaine. We have three grown sons who have blessed us with five granddaughters and one grandson.

I am a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dallastown where I serve as a lector and Assistant Children's Choir Director. I also sing

with the adult choir and I have taught religious education for many years. Currently, I am teaching religious education at St. Patrick’s in York. I also substitute as the organist at Mass by playing my guitar (I don’t play the organ)! I serve the York community as a Youth Aid Panel member through the Office of Youth Probation and play in the Red Lion Felton Community Concert band.

I would be more than happy to meet with you to discuss questions and concerns. Please email me at psnyder@omph.org to set up a time to meet. Thank you for considering our wonderful school!

Blessings,

Mrs. Peggy Snyder, OMPH School Principal
