Catching Up With 7th & 8th Grades

The 7th and 8th Graders have just finished competing in Science Fair and National History Day. The students put forth a lot of effort into their projects.

Congratulations to the following 8th graders: Amelia Atkinson (1st), Cristiano Pereira (1st), Harmony Pierce (2nd), Lucy Kowitz (3rd), and Charlie Landry (2nd) for their hard work and effort within the documentary, exhibit, and website categories. Each student focused on the theme “Turning Points in History”, while diving into in-depth research skills in addition to analyzing types of resources. This is a fun and exhilarating challenge for our students to not only expand and broaden their knowledge of a particular topic of their choosing but also an opportunity to experience various levels of competition.

Congratulations to the following 7th graders for placing in the Science Fair: 1st - Ava Baumler; 2nd - Patrick Landry, 3rd - Natalie Dresch, 4th - Makayla Ile and Elliea Yarnes. These students have an opportunity to attend the Lancaster County Science Fair at Millersville University.

The Eighth Graders have been participating in Junior Achievement. During their program they learn career mapping. They look at potential careers or positions they may want, and what steps are needed to get there. In April, the Seventh Graders will also be participating in Junior Achievement. A volunteer from the community comes to teach the students about budgets, jobs, credit and debit and how all this ties in together.

The Seventh and Eighth Graders also have a responsibility to sit with Kindergarten and First Grade at School Masses and they are excellent role models.
