Celebrating Mary, Our Mother, During the Month of May

On Friday, May 8 we honored our Blessed Virgin Mary with a special May crowning ceremony. The children braved a chilly May morning to stand outside our school and watch as 2nd Grade students Maddie and Bodhi crowned Mary. Afterwards, the 2nd Grade class led a procession of students to our parish Grotto where 8th Grade students Ian and Liv crowned Mary while Mrs. Snyder led our students in song. We pray that Mary will watch over our families, our school, and our parish and shower her blessings on us. We seek Mary’s intercession and honor her as “Queen of Heaven and Earth.” Congratulations to the OMPH School 2nd Grade class who recently received their First Holy Communion! A special thank you to Mrs. Beth Eberly, 2nd Grade teacher, for preparing the children to receive this beautiful sacrament. First Holy Communion Reflections from the OMPH School 2nd Grade Class will be featured in the next two School Scenes; we hope you enjoy these beautiful words from our students!
