We are excited to welcome our youngest learners back to Our Mother of Perpetual Help School for another wonderful year of faith, friendship, learning, and fun! Our Preschool 3 and Preschool 4 programs provide children with a loving environment where they can grow socially, emotionally, academically, and spiritually while building a strong foundation for their years ahead.
This year marks our sixth year as a full-time program, and we are grateful for the opportunity to continue serving our youngest students and their families.
Meet Our Teachers: Our Preschool classroom for 3-year-olds is led by Mrs. Hammond, with Mrs. Pieninck serving as classroom assistant. Our Preschool classroom for 4-year-olds is guided by Mrs. Edmiston, with Mrs. Kalpokas and Mrs. Lauer assisting throughout the day. Together, our teachers create warm, welcoming classrooms where children feel safe, valued, and ready to learn!
A Day Filled with Learning and Fun:
Preschool’s daily routine offers a wonderful balance of structured learning, play, movement, and rest. Children begin with morning meeting and circle time before enjoying free play and small-group activities. Large-group experiences, music, and movement give students opportunities to learn, interact with friends, and stay active.
After lunch in the cafeteria, students head outdoors for gross motor play. The afternoon includes story time, rest time, snack, and a closing meeting. This consistent routine helps children develop independence, confidence, and positive classroom habits.
Our students also enjoy three special classes each week! Through Catechesis of the Good Shepherd,
Mrs. Wissler and Mrs. Lewis provide meaningful, hands-on opportunities for children to grow in their Catholic faith. Library Time with Mrs. Dreihaup encourages a love of books and stories, while Music Class with Mrs. Sands fills the classroom with singing, rhythm, and movement.
Learning Beyond the Classroom:
Throughout the school year, Preschool also welcomes special guests who introduce our students to different careers and ways people serve their communities. In previous years, children have met a nurse, firefighter, police officer, farmer, and military service member. “We look forward to welcoming more community helpers and giving our students exciting opportunities to learn from them,” expressed
Mrs. Edmiston and Mrs. Hammond. Our teachers are blessed to partner with our Preschool families during these important early years. They look forward to watching their students learn, grow, make new friends, deepen their faith, and create wonderful memories together.
