Recently, our 6th and 7th grade classes participated in the annual OMPH School Science Fair. Students were tasked with putting together a project, starting with a question and hypothesis. They conducted their experiments at home and then recorded the results on a board that was presented to volunteer judges. Thank you to all of our 6th and 7th grade students for participating!
The following students placed in this year’s Science Fair: Alaina A. (1st Place, Grade 7) with “To Rust or Not to Rust.” Finley S. (2nd Place, Grade 7) with “Planting Beans in Different Light,” Addison G. (T-3rd Place, Grade 7) with “The Science of Suds,” Martin K. (T-3rd Place, Grade 7) with “Friction Fun,” Marlowe M. (4th Place, Grade 7) with “Keeping it Cool,” Isabel B. (Honorable Mention, Grade 7) with “Apples and PH,” Katherine V. (1st Place, Grade 6) with “Electric Motors: the Effect of Changing Voltage,” Ashley T. (2nd Place, Grade 6) with “Material Matters,” Julianna N. (T-3rd Place, Grade 6) with “Avocad-Oh-No,” Madelyn S. (T-3rd Place, Grade 6) with Boat Race, Claire L. (4th Place, Grade 6) with “The Speed of the Golf Ball,” and Kira S. (Honorable Mention, Grade 6) with “Solar Oven Cook-Off.”
All 7th Grade students who registered are eligible to submit their projects to the North Museum’s Science and Engineering Fair in March. Great job, students!
