Spring is in the Air at OMPH School

The arrival of warmer weather sparked creativity in our students as they worked on fun projects in March related to St. Patrick’s Day and Lent. Kindergarten Gold, along with their 5th grade prayer pals, made hand traced rainbows leading to pots of gold. Lucky the leprechaun turned their room upside down and left gold coins behind. Students also played a rainbow math game, sorted lucky charms, and went on a virtual field trip to learn about Irish step dancing.
First Grade Gold worked on a STEM activity with their Pot of Gold Rainbows. The winning team held 16 pieces of “gold!” Everyone had fun building their projects with playdough, pipe cleaners and a container of “gold.”
Kindergarten Blue students completed reading and math activities, made Fruit Loop and Marshmallow rainbows and Irish potatoes, and decorated Lucky Charm cookies. The class also painted their hands for an art project with a cute Irish saying, and learned Irish dancing. The students loved this fun and educational day!
Our First Grade Blue class made leprechaun traps with various materials, hoping to catch the leprechaun. They also made Shamrocks to show how St. Patrick used them to teach people about the Trinity. They ended their day with yummy cupcakes sent in by one of the classroom parents. As Easter approached, our Preschool 3 class made “palms” and reverently processed from their classroom, through the hallways, to outside our beautiful church.
Our 1st Grade Blue students and their 4th Grade Prayer Pals made tombs and talked about the crucifixion, death, and resurrection of Jesus. Students in Kindergarten Gold decorated eggs, had an egg breaking contest, and worked on an Easter craft for their work board. Classrooms took turns acting out and leading our weekly Stations of the Cross, held on Fridays during Lent.
We are blessed to be able to praise God in all we do every day at OMPH School!
