Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! We are so excited to begin this new school year and have a few staffing changes. We say goodbye to Mrs. Natasha Pickett and Ms. Dottie Boyd. We appreciate their dedicated service to the children of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic School and wish them well in their new pursuits.
We welcome Mrs. Teri Neafach, our new 6th, 7th, and 8th grade English Language Arts Teacher. She comes to us with experience working in Catholic schools, most recently at Berks Catholic. She is also an alumni from Catholic education. Teri and her husband are members of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Parish.
We also welcome Mrs. Katie Schulze as our 5th grade teacher! Katie comes to us with experience working with children in the Head Start Program through the Lancaster Lebanon Intermediate Unit 13. She was instrumental in working with children and their families providing educational, behavioral and emotional support to enable her students to be successful. Katie and her family are also members of OMPH Parish!
Mr. Charles Landry has been working with us as our Technology teacher, but he will be moving to the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Social Studies and Religion Teacher position. Miss Caitlin Peters, our former Middle School Religion and Social Studies teacher will move to our new Kindergarten class. Mrs. Donna Witmer, one of our grandparents and a member of OMPH Parish, will be taking over the Technology position.
We also welcome back our former Enrollment Director, Mrs. Jennifer Francis. We are grateful to her for returning to OMPH School! Our previous Enrollment Director, Mrs. Holly Pannebecker, is moving to a position in our cafeteria and will still be part of our OMPH staff.
Our faculty has been researching Science of Reading: the skills and instructional methods that are proven effective in teaching reading to our students. The five pillars of reading: phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency and comprehension, play a crucial role in developing strong reading skills. OMPH School will be using a new reading program with our students this year to engage them in meaningful reading instruction.
Our school worked the last two years on becoming reaccredited through Middle States Association. We had our visit in April and hope to hear from Middle States by November if we will continue this accreditation, which we have had since 2004 .
If you are looking for a change in your child’s education, please consider our parish school! Let us show you the difference we can make for your child with a Catholic Education. We welcome parents and their children to check us out. Please call the school Enrollment office at 717-738-2414 to arrange a tour and shadow day for your child!
